Claire Draper

Founder and Agent

Claire Draper began their career in 2016, working as an assistant and later literary agent at InkWell Management, the Bent Agency, and Azantian Literary Agency before founding Au Literary Management in 2025. A graduate of NYU Gallatin, Claire studied Queer Diversity in Children’s Literature as an undergraduate and worked for a brief stint as a bookseller at the Strand Bookstore. Claire started wanting to work in and around books as early as high school, when they fell in love with reading and writing after a friend took them to see Twilight. They spent all their time (and savings) at Borders and the local library and on fanfic.net after that.

Claire represents adult romance, graphic novels, young adult, nonfiction, memoir, and select picture books. They prefer to work with books that are funny, lighthearted, romantic, and hopeful, with a fast pace, high stakes, and strong emotional development for the main characters. Refer to our submission guidelines for a more detailed look at their wishlist.
